Bounce House & Inflatable Safety Rules
Every customer who rents from Just 4 Jumps Event Rentals receives these safety rules with their rental agreement. Read them before your event. They apply to every bounce house, water slide, combo bouncer, and obstacle course we deliver.
Just 4 Jumps Event Rentals is committed to the safety of every child and adult who uses our equipment. Inflatables are safe when operated correctly. Every rule below exists because a violation of it creates a real risk of injury or equipment damage.
These rules are printed on every unit and included in your rental agreement. They are not suggestions. A responsible adult must read and understand them before allowing anyone inside any inflatable. Wind and Weather Shutdown
Do not use equipment in winds over 15 mph. Turn off the blower immediately. Do not resume use until adverse weather conditions have fully passed. Wind is one of the most serious inflatable hazards.
Remove Shoes and Sharp Objects
All shoes, eyeglasses, belt buckles, and any other sharp objects must be removed before entering the unit. Sharp items puncture commercial-grade vinyl and create injury risks inside the inflatable.
No Climbing on Netting or Walls
Do not allow climbing on the netting or walls by anyone inside or outside the unit. The netting and walls are safety barriers, not climbing structures. Violations create serious fall and injury risks.
Stake or Sand-Bag the Unit
All inflatables must be staked or sand-bagged in the original setup location. Do not attempt to move the unit after installation. Relocation by anyone other than the Just 4 Jumps Event Rentals crew will result in additional charges and creates a safety hazard.
Adult Supervision at All Times
The unit must be supervised by an adult who has read and understands the rental contract at all times. Never leave children unattended inside any inflatable for any reason. This is the single most important rule on this list.
No Food, Drinks, Candy, or Silly String
No food, drinks, candy, confetti, or trash of any kind is permitted inside the unit. Silly string is strictly prohibited on or near any inflatable. Silly string chemicals permanently damage inflatable vinyl. A minimum $75 cleaning fee applies to violations.
Blower Problems — Remove Children First
If the blower stops or air pressure drops, remove all children from the unit immediately. Check that air tubes at the rear of the unit are securely tied to the blower. The blower should be the only device running on its electrical circuit.
No Unsupervised Children
Children must never be left alone in or near the inflatable. An adult with knowledge of these rules must be present and actively watching at all times the unit is in use. Supervision is non-negotiable.
Silly String Causes Permanent Damage — Minimum $75 Fee
Silly string contains chemicals that permanently destroy commercial-grade inflatable vinyl on contact. It is the single most common source of damage fees in the party rental industry. A minimum $75 cleaning fee will be charged for any use of silly string on or near any Just 4 Jumps Event Rentals inflatable. Repair costs will be charged separately if the material is damaged. Keep silly string away from the unit entirely — not just out of it.
- No shoes, socks with grip pads, or footwear of any kind inside
- No sharp objects, jewelry, belt buckles, or pens inside
- No food, drinks, candy, gum, or lollipops inside
- No silly string anywhere near the unit
- No climbing on walls or netting
- No pets inside or on the unit
- No flips, roughhousing, or horseplay
- Do not exceed posted weight or rider limits
- Do not move the unit from its installed location
- Do not use in winds over 15 mph
- Adult must supervise at all times
- Keep blower running during all use
- Remove all children if blower stops
- Separate age groups — keep younger kids away from older kids

What wind speed makes a bounce house unsafe?
Turn off the blower and stop all use when winds exceed 15 mph. Do not allow anyone back inside until conditions have fully passed. Wind is among the leading causes of inflatable injuries. When in doubt, shut it down. Just 4 Jumps Event Rentals monitors weather before every delivery and will contact you if conditions warrant cancellation or rescheduling.
Should kids remove shoes before entering a bounce house?
Yes. Remove all shoes, eyeglasses, belt buckles, and sharp objects before entering any inflatable. Sharp items can puncture commercial-grade vinyl and create injury hazards inside the unit. This rule applies to adults as well as children.
Can kids climb on the netting or walls of a bounce house?
No. Climbing on the netting or walls is prohibited for anyone inside or outside the unit at any time. The netting is a safety enclosure, not a climbing wall. Falls from the netting or walls are a leading cause of inflatable injuries at unsupervised events.
Can children use a bounce house without adult supervision?
Never. An adult who has read the rental agreement and understands these safety rules must supervise the bounce house at all times when it is in use. What should I do if the bounce house blower stops working?
Remove all children from the unit immediately. Do not allow anyone to remain inside a deflating inflatable. Check that the air tubes at the rear of the unit are securely connected to the blower, and confirm the blower is the only device on its electrical circuit. If the problem does not resolve quickly, call (219) 779-0411 and we will help troubleshoot or dispatch assistance.
What is the penalty for silly string near an inflatable?
A minimum $75 cleaning fee applies to any use of silly string on or near a Just 4 Jumps Event Rentals inflatable. If the material is damaged, repair or replacement costs will be charged in addition to the cleaning fee. Keep silly string completely away from the rental area, not just out of the unit itself.
Does a bounce house need to be staked into the ground?
Yes. All inflatables are staked or sand-bagged by the Just 4 Jumps Event Rentals crew at the setup location confirmed at booking. Do not attempt to move the unit after installation. Relocation by the customer without crew involvement will result in additional charges and creates a serious safety hazard for anyone using the inflatable.
